My Journey to a Week-end with Friends

It's been a week that, almost every day we have a visitor or two at our home. It really feels good. For some of them it's been a very long time since we saw each other, some others it's been only weeks. Either way, we had great time.

For sports fans, this is one of the greatest moments of the year. The NBA and the NHL are in the heat of the Playoffs, soccer fans were enjoying the final game of the European Champions League (how about Didier Drogba!)

I am so glad that my wife has agreed to watch Basketball with me. Although she played the game long time ago, she is not really a big fan of the NBA. Thank God she is now starting to loving it even though she doesn't like so much my Lakers lol.

Just the other day, we were watching San Antonio playing the Los Angeles Clippers. I was so much impressed by the Spurs. Wow, these guys put on a show of excellence in all aspects of the game. By the end of the second quarter, they were down 24 points. I was worried that they were going to lose the game. Do you know what? The players were not worried at all. Tony Parker was joking with his coach, Tim Duncan (their best player for a decade) was resting on the bench, and I was like “do these guys know what the score is?”

They seemed not to worry at all. I guess they knew what they were doing.

Guess what! In the third quarter, they turned up the heat on defense, and, in a matter of minutes, they scored 24 points to....zero! They ended up winning the game. I couldn't believe it

Looking back, I now understand what happened. The San Antonio team has developed a winning mentality in such a way that it doesn't matter what the score board is saying, they KNOW they are going to win. They could be ahead or behind in the score, they have the same face. Nothing really bothers them. They are so confident and they do trust their coach and system, they trust in the team.

I started thinking: what if I could have the same approach in life? What if, no matter what's going on in my life, I KNOW I am going to win? How could my life be? What if I could completely trust my “coach” (and you all know whom I am talking about) to show me the winning strategy? I wouldn't worry about the future or anything. The outside circumstances would not dictate how I feel inside. I would know I would win eventually. Wouldn't that be great?

Don't you think that Basketball is a great game? Don't miss tonight's game. Hope that the Lakers will win (please Bertrand, don't text me if they lose lol)

Moral of the story? Do you want to win in life? Just watch Basketball, and you will keep reading my blog.

Always a pleasure
